5 Ways to Reuse Your Pumpkin Guts

Posted by Taylor McCarten on

You don't need to feel guilty about carving a Halloween pumpkin this season. Here's how you can reuse your pumpkin scraps this spooky season! There's nothing scarier than not recycling.

1. Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

This makes the perfect on-the-go snack or oatmeal topping

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 400 Degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 2: Rinse seeds and strings under cold water to separate. Compost the leftover strings.

Step 3: Bake until seeds are lightly brown

Step 4: Add salt if desired and serve

2. Pumpkin Spice Kombucha

Not only is this a great way to reuse pumpkin guts, but it is also gut-friendly as well.

3. Creamy Pumpkin Soap

This is perfect for making big batches. This is super easy to freeze and keeps for a long time. Check out this recipe here to get brewing!

4. Homemade Fresh Pumpkin Pie

Who can turn down a slice of REAL pumpkin pie? We know we can’t. Check out this recipe here

5. Pumpkin Spice Latte

The REAL stuff! Turn your pumpkin guts into pumpkin puree and you’re good to go!

This recipe only takes 10 minutes to make and is so good it will probably be gone within that time too!

Still have leftover pumpkin scraps? Since pumpkins are organic matter, we recommend adding them to your compost bin. However, be sure to remove any candles or other decorations before you toss it into the pile if you are planning on using the shell for Halloween carvings.
